ABOUT THE COURSE
The asynchronous online course Simulation-Based Medical Teaching is a part of the course Simulation of Clinical Teaching within the lifelong learning programme Modern and Practical Medical Education. Although it is a part of the mentioned programme and course, this online course is organised and conducted differently in terms of design and methodological approach. This thematic unit focuses less on the self-reflection of the trainee’s practice and more on the theoretical foundations of simulation-based learning and the opportunities it offers to clinical educators in modern medical education.
This course was developed in collaboration with the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso, United States of America.
COURSE AIMS
The course is aimed at training participants to independently design teaching scenarios in clinical simulation, monitor progress and provide constructive feedback and debriefing, as well as select appropriate tools for assessment and evaluation of simulation-based medical teaching.
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
The course is intended for teachers who use clinical simulation in their teaching practice, as well as for those who don’t use it but wish to get familiarised with its basic principles.
