University undergraduate study

University undergraduate studies are full-time studies that last 6 semesters and are a result of both traditional and contemporary scientific achievements in biomedicine and health. These study programmes represent an indispensable segment of modern medicine and are focused on preservation and improvement of health of individuals, families and societies and prevention of diseases. Throughout the years, the study programmes have been improved in both professional and scientific research area of biomedicine and health.

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rijeka offers two university undergraduate studies:

  1. University undergraduate study of Environmental and Public Health (180 ECTS)
  2. University undergraduate study of Medical Laboratory Diagnostics (180 ECTS)

The following candidates have the right to enrol: candidates who have completed a four-year high school, met prerequisites for enrolment, passed the mandatory and optional tests at the state graduation exam (evaluation parameters are determined for each academic year).

Upon completion of the University undergraduate study of Environmental and Public Health, the student is awarded the academic title of Bachelor of Environmental and Public Health (univ. bacc. env. pub. health / B.Sc.EPH).

Upon completion of the University undergraduate study of Medical Laboratory Diagnostics, the student is awarded the academic title of Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Diagnostics (univ. bacc. med. lab. diag. / B.Sc.MLD). After completing the study, the student acquires 180 ECTS credits and can enrol in the equivalent university graduate study.
