Scientific research groups of the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka are competitive and internationally recognisable in their research, which significantly contributes to the development of the Faculty of Medicine. This is evidenced by the number and quality of scientific publications, the number of competitive projects, the number of PhD students undergoing scientific training, and the achieved international scientific cooperation.
In the five-year period from 2016 to 2020, a total of 1,521 scientific papers were published, of which 1,036 were papers published in journals indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) and 1,491 were papers published in journals indexed in the Scopus database.
There is a visible increase in the number of scientific papers published by teachers and associates of the Faculty, from 267 in 2016 to 321 in 2020.
