The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rijeka is actively involved in the European Research Area (ERA) and the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). We strongly encourage all forms of international cooperation that enable knowledge and technology transfer and improvement of standards in scientific production, teaching quality and student mobility.
International cooperation is based on signed bilateral agreements, membership in international scientific and professional networks and associations, participation in scientific and professional research projects, work of student associations, exchange of students, young scientists and university teachers and all other activities aimed at establishing, improving and maintaining international relations.

Office of International Relations
Through openness and contact with foreign institutions, we create the prerequisites for participation in bilateral and multilateral research programmes, exchange programmes for students, young scientists and university teachers and providing training grants.
The Office of International Relations actively cooperates with the International Relations Office of the University of Rijeka.
Office activities:
- coordinating activities and developing international cooperation and exchange with universities and faculties with which the University of Rijeka has signed agreements, as well as with institutions in Europe and worldwide with which the Faculty of Medicine has signed bilateral cooperation agreements
- systematically instructing and informing employees and students about available international cooperation programmes
- putting effort into involving the Faculty of Medicine and its employees and students in various international organisations and programmes of interest to the Faculty
- encouraging knowledge exchange through intensifying the mobility of students, teachers and administrative staff
- regularly and timely publishing calls for applications for grants, projects, exchanges, etc.
