The proposal of this lifelong learning programme is based on contemporary interdisciplinary knowledge of health promotion, prevention of mental and behavioural disorders and other risky behaviours of children and young people. The programme encompasses experience from practice, primarily through examples of good practice or a practice model, and academic potential in applying the scientific methodology in planning and monitoring implementation. Top experts in this field from the Republic of Croatia participate in the implementation of this programme, which provides additional quality for the benefit and development of the professional and academic community. Overall, the proposed lifelong learning programme offers the possibility of planning and implementing preventive activities in the community based on the identification of influencing factors in a given area and according to the identified priorities for their resolution, thus enabling an effective impact on the individual, family, school and community.
The programme is intended for experts (physicians, psychologists, school social workers, etc.) working in healthcare and educational institutions, public administration or civil society organizations that participate in creating and implementing preventive programmes. These are people who, in a broader sense, deal with the prevention and promotion of mental health, people involved in political decision-making and providing financial support to projects and programmes aimed at the population’s mental health.
The programme consists of 18 hours of lectures and practicals, totalling 4 ECTS credits.
